Look at the second picture in the post. The white, blurry one. See the letter "G" there? that's where the letter is supposed to be. If there isn't one in the place of the G, then the PSP comes with Firmware 3.6 & it's hackable.
If you can't find that same label on your PSP box, then I guess this won't help you much.
Note that we are only talking about 2000 Series PSPs here.
