Best Format to convert video to for the psp?
Hello I have a couple of questions first, of the video types that are supported on the psp, what video format should one use when looking to get the best picture quality, and that would take up the least amount of space? I know that depends, at least partially, on the quality you choose to convert it to. I guess what I'm asking is does it make a difference? Does one format have a better picture quality by default over the other?
Second question I have a 16 gigabyte memory stick, it is a Sony mark two. Does anyone know the exact read/write speeds of a mark two memory stick as in megabytes per second? I went to three best buys looking for the answer. One employee told me that it was 15mbps another told me that it was only 6mbps which is it? 15, 6, or neither?
I don't consider No. 2 to be a really important question, I'm just curious.

it really depends on the stick
if its a mark two then it supposed to get a good enough speed for AVCHD recording....

Mark2Certification
To designate AVCHD recording support, the Memory Stick PRO format has added the Mark2 certification. Memory Stick PRO media products with this logo meet the higher writing speed requirements and are certified to operate with AVCHD recording products.

Hm, I downloaded the program that ninja recommended and converted a few videos using it, it turns out that program is better than the one I was using. It also can convert a video's dimensions for the psp up to 480x272, it allows for the control of quality, both audio and
video just like the other program I was using. Except it encodes much faster with a frame-by-frame preview and it doesn't sap as much CPU bandwidth as the other program that I was using

the program that I use to convert video to the psp's specs is DVDfab, this is not a free program, however it allows for the control of quality in video & audio you can also customize bitrates for both as well. You can rip dvds straight to the psp & it converts super fast. It also supports a multitude of other portable devices, as well as all of the standard formats for the pc in dimensions that you specify.
Give it a whirl.
