OK WTF?! Upgredated to 5.50 GenD NOW DEAD?
Ok, I have been hacking for a while and having no problems. Last night I upgraded to Gen D on my Star Wars Edition White PSP-2000. Everthing was fine. I played a few games then shut it off. Now this afternoon I turned it on and the light goes green, but the screen won't turn on. It just hangs. I pulled the battery, plugged the unit in using AC and still the same thing?? The screen will not turn on, no sound, nothing. Just a green light? Am I f'd or what? Please any help would be appreciated.

Can you hold the R button and get into recovery? Do you have a pandora/stick? I have the same unit and it worked fine with Gen-D, although I did go back to m33-6 due to certain issues with the firmware.

Thank you for the reply. Here is an update. I pulled the battery out and plugged the unit in without the battery and it booted up!! Yeah!, BUT! Now two scenarios happen.
1. If I put the battery in while it is still running with the power adpater plugged in, the unit recognizes the battery and begins to charge it. If I unplug the unit it keeps running. If I shut off the unit (or if it goes to sleep) and try to turn it back on, the light stays green and no boot.
2. If I put the battery in while the unit is OFF! OFF mind you. The green power light goes on and stays on, and the unit does not respond to the power switch, unless I hold it down for like 20 seconds. Even so, If I shut the unit off that way and try to turn it back on; again the solid green light with no repsonse.
Do you I have a bad battery? It's a standard PSP slim battery that came with the unit.
Or did the firmware do something to the battery and is that even possible?
Thanks so much for your help.

I don't mean to hijack Tanker's thread, but what were the issues that made you go back to m33-6? Was it stability issues?

It sounds kinda like a pandora battery. Is it possible that you accidentally softmodded your battery into a pandora with the CFW? I heard someone else do that just recently. He didn't even know how it happened.
Try booting up to the recovery menu and see if you can change it back to a regular battery and see if that helps.

This is exactly what you did. You must have accidentally selected to make a pandora battery in the vsh menu. No big deal tho. Boot back up without the battery in (power cable plugged in). When you get to the xmb, insert the battery. Next, press "select" to access the vsh menu and choose to make a normal battery.
Hey, at least you know you have a slim that can make pandoras....as well as a battery that can be hacked

Sound issues (sound not working on some bootups), tv-out issues (vsh menu problems), video iso mount issues (sometimes does not see iso files on card), speed issues (I use cso compressed files....too slow without memory hack).
The firmware is an obvious hack of DaX's work. Not bad mind you, but it has just too many little annoying issues for my tastes.

I'm not sure how many issues were resolved in the D2 release but you may wanna try out GEN5.50 D2

Thanks for responding. Ok, that's kind of what I figured. I think I'll just stick with the reliable m33.

I believe M33 was DaX's work, not Gen.

Some of a *****! Vmurph was right!!! Zector thanks for the step by step, but I had to do it in the boot menu. I do not recall telling it to be a Pandora battery. It's funny because I just bought Pandora battery because it was cheaper than an OEM battery and I figured hey if I need one, then I'll have one. So you are telling me by chance, Long ago I bought this PSP 2000 that not only could EASILY be modded, but also can make Pandora batteries AS WELL AS have a battery that can be turned into one! I should buy a lottery ticket! Thanks for all of your help! So if I bought or made a magic stick I could use this battery just like a Pandora/TOOL battery?
