Laptop problems - PSP Slim Hacks

Alright so my sisters laptop, dv9700 by HP has been goin through some hardware trouble ever since i reformatted it, there isnt any major problems, but she hasnt been able to use her built in microphone, webcam, and the audio/microphone jacks
i first reformatted to windows ultimate when this problem happened, and then there were no drivers listed on the HP website, and just last night i reformatted her laptop to windows 7, hoping that it would automatically install drivers for her laptop, but i guess it didnt happen either
any suggestions?

Whenever you reformat the HDD it gets rid of all the drivers. The audio drivers can usually be fixed by using RealTek AC'97 driver. Although the drivers are OS specific sometimes mostly XP vs Vista. HP does have some drivers listed here HP Pavilion dv9700 drivers find your exact model on the list and give it a shot.

i said i tried those already, ive been on that website and downloaded and installed all the drivers, still no luck
my sister got the webcam installed, but the jacks are still not working at all
they arent even detected on the main system, you can plug in headphones and the main speakers will still be going off
urgh, this has turned into a complete nightmare, i havent had this many problems on my own laptop and PC

. in any case if none of those drivers are working then you should request windows 7 compatible drivers CD directly from HP customer support. They are quite helpful, just dont tell them you reformatted the drive, explain you upgraded to Windows 7 and some components arent working they should be able to help. My experience is limited to Vista and XP. As I said before drivers are OS specific so you need the Windows 7 drivers.

Why not go back to the default vista installation and then use the recovery DVD from HP to get the drivers?

if its anything like my HP it doesn't come with recovery DVD unless you burn your own and its usually 3 to 4 DVDs or 8 to 9 CDs

I had the same problem, I found the following solution at Answers to the dreaded No audio output device installed |
Find the latest version of your driver, download it, uninstall your current driver and install the new one. After uninstalling the driver and reboot it to automatically reinstall it, the audio still may not work. Amazingly though, sometimes after putting the system in hibernate mode and coming back, the audio worked.

Hope it helps if it doesn't they have other suggestions.
