Hacking a psp 3000 TUTORIAL !!

I have posted this thread to help all those noobs and members who want to hack their psp 3000.

First thing I need to tell you that in hacking a psp 3000, motherboard version does not matter.
The only thing that matters while hacking is the ORIGINAL Firmware version that you are currently on.

Till this date only the psp 3000's with firmwares upto 5.03 & below are hackable.
Dont ask this thing again & again in the forums.

Now for the hacking,

1. If you are running firmware below 5.03
then update your ofw to 5.03.

2. Now when you are on ofw 5.03 see & download these files :-

3. Now you have 3 options for selecting cfw :-
a) 5.03 gen-a
b) 5.03 MHU ( cfwe 3.60 )
c) 5.03 gen-b

( As 5.03 gen-b will run all your latest games & homebrew, I recommended this one )

4.Download 5.03 gen-b from here :-

AN IMPORTANT NOTE:-
If you want to switch between 5.03 MHU or 5.03 GEN-B then you must uninstall your current firmware before switching.
Although uninstalling from cfwe 3.6 is not possible ( as I have heard )
so you can use older versions like 3.30 to uninstall MHU and then move over to install 5.03GEN-B directly ( do not install gen-a ).


IF YOU DO NOT UNINSTALL YOUR CURRENT FIRMWARE BEFORE SWITCHING OVER TO ANOTHER ONE THEN YOU CAN BRICK YOUR PSP AS YOUR RAM GETS FILLED UP AND NO SPACE IS AVAILABLE FOR A NEW CFW.( THUS INTERUPTING THE INSTALL PROCESS AND CLOGGING UP THE RAM).


5. Run chickHEN R2 and install gen-b.

6.DONE !!!!!!

If you have firmware higher than 5.03 in your psp 3000, then YOU CANT DOWNGRADE IT.
& do not post new threads asking if firmware 5.5x+ is hackable or not.



This should clear up all the doubts for psp 3000 owners who want to install cfw onto their psp's.

If you have problems then post them only after researching them.

well that didnt help . cuz i hav 5.50 )_( ...... 5.03 doesnt matter now....if sum1 has a ofw 5.03 psp they will youtube how to hak psp-x000 now evry1 is waitin for hak for psp 3000 5.5x+
