Your PSP is bricked. And since your PSP is a 3000, you can't unbrick it or

reset anything to make it unbrick. If my PSP was bricked, the very first thing

I should try is taking the battery out and plugging the PSP charger in. Then

turn it on. If that doesn't work, then your only choice is to send it to Sony (if

it's still under warranty or you'll have to pay money). It will come back with

the latest firmware but if you buy a new PSP 3000, it will also have a great

chance of having OFW 5.50 and up. If you are willing to send it to Sony,

then tell them this: "I was updating my OFW and then my PSP froze and

automatically shut

off. I tried to turn it on again but only the green light shines and the PSP

screen is black."

this same thing happened to me and i accesed the vsh menu and preesed "make pandora batterry" and i shut it off then it would not turn back on. so i decided to turn it on via wall charger and it worked so i pressed "make normal battery" and it worked again! if you hadnt sent it yet trie this before you send it if it does not work still then sorry it's bricked.
