PSP 3000,GBA Wireless Adapter Emulator
Hey guys,
I'm new in the board, and got a question:
First of all,I flashed my PSP with ChickHen R2,and I got
as Custom Firmware 3.52 M33(Maybe 3.80 M33,I'm not sure).
And I use the Gameboy Advance - Emulator GpSP,and i love
to play pokemon.I play pokemon on my emulator, but my friends
play it on a Gameboy Advance.I found out that there is a Wireless adapter for the Gameboy Advance with which the can fight und swap Pokemons.
So my question is:Is there a program that uses the WLAN of the PSP and emulate this wireless adapter so I can play against my friends?
Hope for answers
Loriot

Well...
Actually it is possible,i found in a other board this:
Quote:
k, one of the many games i play on my psp is pokemon fire red, i have a slim on 3.80 m33-4 (gonna upgrade to 3.90 m33 -2 when i get a battery, i snapped the pin in mine hardmodding it lol)
so, was thinking, is there ANY way i could use the psp WIFI as a gba wireless adapter?i want to swap some pokemon with my freind, and he has a ds, so, please tell me theres a way.
i want the GBA emulator to see the psp WIFI as a wireless adapter, and if it does, i can connect to tnhe niternet and trade/fight other people in pokemon, and evolve the pokemon that need to be tradde to evolve (kadabra - alikazam, geodude-golem w/e)
maybe its something in the bios? im not sure but i tinhk it should be possible, does anyone have a better idia? or is there already a way to do this??

Yes, they can. They both use 802.11b, which operates on 2.4GHz.
|
So in this board they talked about the Wireless communication between Sony PSP and the Nintendo DS.
So it should be easy to make a communication between PSP and a Gameboy Advance wireless adapter.
For those, who dont know what this wireless adapter looks like:

Hi,
I Flashed my PSP 3000 with ChickHen R2 too,
and I think there must be a program that can converte the WLAN of the PSP
in the Code of the GBA Wireless Adapter.
I would be interessed in this program too.
It would be good if an psp-Freak could tell us how to do it!!!
Love,
Psp Queen

1 Pokemon-Game can communicate to each other?
I don't think in GpSP is link- or wireless multiplayer function...

Yeah PSPQueen,
just read your comment,
and I found this interesting text
Quote:
We're letting you guys know that homebrew developer Takka has updated Unofficial gpSP Kai to version 3.3 test 1. This application, in case you're wondering, is a homebrew emulator that will enable you to play Gameboy Advance titles on your PSP.
Those who were hoping that this release comes with the wireless adhoc support Takka mentioned earlier will have wait a little longer. The changelog indicates that this version was created to test the feasibility of wireless play between two PSPs.
Adhoc support between two PSPs is still not functional. Here's the rest of the changelog (run through google translate):
* UnOfficial gpSP kai-1 test svn rev 3.3:
o Two PSP communications for test.
o Transfer Dummy data after connection, then log be stored in MemoryStick.
o Games communication is not available.
We remind those planning to download this test release that they will need a GBA bios for it to work. This release is also more unstable than previous releases - those who run into any problems will want to visit Takka's release site for further details

It appears that developer Takka has something big in store for the Unofficial gpSP Kai Gameboy Advance Emulator for the Sony PSP. The coder updated his dev site with some of his upcoming plans for gpSP Kai, including the implementation of a multiplayer function. Here are the author’s notes (Via Google translate):
Communication functions implemented on the situation, because there was a comment a few points of the report and the current situation.
Now,
* Other menu from the search connection PSP (two.)
* WLAN, send and receive data
So far end, and now
* GBA cable for multi-mode communications using the two communications functions
To implement.
The turn of the year, some of the games in two of communications capabilities to be able to use it to the public as possible.
From what we gather from these translations, Takka appears to be planning to implement the function into two GBA games by next year. Do keep in mind that this appears to be an initial announcement – we’ll let you know if the developer follows through with these plan in the form of a new Unofficial gpSP Kai release.
there are rumors on the net that pokemon ruby has been successful with 2 play trading!

Wow, awesome concept. It never even occurred to me to wonder if this could be done, because I didn't think it could. I'm a huge GBA fan and would love to see this happen.
