Install CFW 5.00 M33-4 on a PSP without a Pandora Battery!

this doesn't work for me!
i updated my psp 2000 to ofw 5.03
i have the chickhen slim folder with the 5 images including the .tiff
when i go to the photo->memory stick->chickHEN for slim
and move the select bar to the .tiff
it freezes up and then it forces a shut down. there is no flash?

can you help me please?

in the custom firmware download section wen i went to download 5.00m33-6 there is another download link beneath it saying ”You also might need Official PSP Firmware 5.00 below” do i need it?

and can i install 5.00 m33-6 and get all the update included in m33-4,m33-3,m33-2

you only need official firmware 5.00 if you are installing from a version below 5.00. so if you are going directly from 4.05 to 5.00 then you need to include the update. if you already have 5.00 m33 cfw installed, just run the 5.00 m33-6 installer.

5.00 m33-6 is the latest version of the 5.00 m33 custom firmware. it has fixed bugs present in all previous versions you mentioned.

The M33-6 updater read me file says upgrade using network, is there a way to do this directly without downloading update through network (wifi)? And how do I do it?

if you already have a 5.00 m33 custom firmware installed(5.00 m33-4 for example), then you can just download and run the 5.00 m33-6 update like a regular network update.

just download it from the main site, unzip, and place the eboot into your UPDATE folder (or copy the UPDATE folder if need be), and run the update.

yup! 5.00 M33-4. "regular network update" means, internet connection? I don't have a wifi connection. Is there a way to update it from (hellcats) memory stick?

(the guy from the shop did the m33-4 update for me so I have no idea doin' it be my self)

well, regular network update to me means that you download and run an eboot, be it via wifi or from a site.

you can download the m33-6 update you need here:

just download, unpack, move the UPDATE folder to your psp (if you already have an UPDATE folder, just move the eboot) and then run the update.

this will get the job done.

p.s. - dont worry about the ofw 5.00 eboot it mentions in the article. since you already have 5.00 m33-4 installed, you dont need it.

i have firmware 5.03 i have downloaded the official firmware 5.00 the read me said to copy it to the update folder naming it 500.pbp i tried installing using hell cat recovery it didnt work

it comes with the 5.00 eboot already included. it installs 5.00 m33-6. that should do it.

U NEED CHICKHEN installed on your psp!
load the .tiff image (may not work 1st go)
do not give up make sure ur susing the right chicken r2 for 1000 or 2000 (there diffrent)
then when you clik it and ur screen goes funny and coulourful pixels show it will shutodown success! chickhen has loaded now check ur system info too see if it is chicken r2 if so check ur pspident it will load! if ur psp is hackable open hellcats recovery.
then flash to 5.00 xD easy!
