dunno if there's a list.. just make sure the apps you're using specifies that it is tested and working on a psp 3000. also make sure that the source of that app has credibility lol

Yep.. but since you have m33 before just use Gen D2 .. it'll let you play the new games.. guides are in the forums.. 5.50 Gen D2 only works for psp 2000s that doesn't have a TA-088v3 board..

for psp 3000s i suggest just patch your game or get a patched version of the game from the net that is if you have an original copy of the game (BUY YOUR GAMES).. if that's too much trouble then just get the latest 5.03 Gen B just got out 2 days ago.. reports say it's working but not perfect.. some freezes and it has PSX Related bugs.. other than that it lets you play the latest games .. No bricks too lol that's good

I followed the guide and now I'll comment on my experience.

PSP 3001 new with OFW 5.01, then I upgraded to OFW 5.03.

Next I tried Chicken R2 with a "SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo" of 8GB but failed no matter what, then I even tried Chicken R2 Mod2 from Moskito but still nothing.

After reading a lot of forum posts including other sources outside pspslimhacks.com, I came to the conclusion that one of the MAIN variables in success was the capacity of the memory stick used in the procedure. And to be successful I needed one that at most was 4GB, or the less capacity the better.

So I bought a "SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo" of 2GB (I've read that Sony branded memory sticks are also good for this). Now with the Chicken R2 (not the Mod2) Turned off the PSP, then on and without much hurry nor delay I went to "Pictures" then opened the memory, didn't wait for the egg to appear on the preview, and as I pressed "X" I went down to the last picture (the tiff) and stopped pressing anything.

It worked out on 2nd try so the capacity of the memory stick really makes a difference.

As you can see I also included the brand, name detail and capacity of the one I used in hope of it being useful info to someone out there, cheers.

Well, to each his own experience glad u got it working. i have an 8GB Kingston mini sd card with an adapter and i had no trouble using it.. i believe it's just a matter of knowing your psp.. some turn off their auto umd and cache, some restore their default settings.. but the important thing is now you know what makes chickHen work on your psp.. cheers

I'm trying to move frm CFW 3.6 to GEN-A, but my system doesn't seem to be reboot after step 11. I have already uninstalled the CFW 3.6 with CFW 3.3 as advised by the other experts.

Could it be that my system just can't do GEN-A/B?

if cfwenabler worked with your psp than the partial gen cfws should work too. 5.03 gen-a has always been a bit of a pain. while the main psg site states that 5.03 gen-a is necessary to update to 5.03 gen-b, the pspgen site (the site & dev team that releases the gen cfws) does not state this as a requirement.

other users have posted that they were able to install straight to 5.03 gen-b. that may be something you want to try. if you already have cfwenabler uninstalled, i would reboot a time or two to official firmware, then load chickHEN, then try to install 5.03 gen-b.

Actually I might add to my experience that I had restored the default settings, turned off umd and cache. Yours is the first case I read of an 8GB SD working with Chicken R2 on PSP (3000?), BUT at the same time you didn't really used a plain SD but a miniSD with an adaptor (again adding to the variables).

Now after one day of repeated use (with several reboots of Chicken R2 due to experimenting with plugins) I can also add that I have always got Chicken R2 working on first or at most second try using the 2GB SD I commented.

After removing CFWE3.60 (needs to reboot "power off") I was able to install GEN B directly.
