depending on what cfw you want to install, they are all a little different. you can find guides on this site. they all require chickhen to be installed though. it is very similar to installing cfw enabler.

5.00 m33-5/6 can be found here:
Easy ChickHEN CFW installer (Without Pandora) Install CFW without a Pandora Battery, PSP Hacks - PSP Slim Hacks

and 5.50 gen-a/b can be found here:
Install Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-A on your PSP - Atma Xplorer

(sorry for the link to another site but i couldnt find a good 5.50 gen-a/b installation tut here)

but do not forget to get chickhen up and running and run pspident before you do any of this to make sure that your psp is fully hackable. if not, than you can continue with cfw enabler.

Free file host with a difference!

So I ve tried running chickhen on my friends 3003 with no result. No matter how many times I go into the PHOTOS folder the psp just freezes and shuts off. No restart no nothing. And yea I updated it to 5.03 OFW. Any thoughts?

that is common for chickhen. they have made two mods to make it easier to load. before you use each, you need to remove the files associated with the old chickhen (h.bin and tiffs).

the first can be found here:
ChickHEN Mod - Load ChickHEN smoother | ChickHEN R2, PSP Hacks - PSP Slim Hacks

and the second can be found here:
ChickHEN mod2.zip ... at uploaded.to - Free File Hosting, Free Image Hosting, Free Music Hosting, Free Video Hosting, ...

the instructions are the same for all of them. just dont forget to remove the old files before loading the new.

So after a thousand tries I finally got chickhen running. But the story doesnt end here. I used this guide: For PSP 3000 : A Complete Guide For Enabling Custom Firmware
I got to the point where i have to choose either CFE or GEN-A but none of them works ffs.
CFE loads but when choose to flash the memory I always get the:"error writing file" error.
With GEN-A i get to the last step but the psp doesnt restart, it just shuts off and I have to put on chickhen again and bla bla bla
Thoughts?

So is this the PSP 2000 or the 3000 your talking about?
If your talking about psp 2000, then run pspident and find out what mobo you have.
Glad ultimakillz helped you through getting CFWenabler.

What do you mean mate?

"al-qarni" The PSP I just hacked was a 3003. But many friends of mine have 2000 and are waiting me to get them hacked.
Sorry, I know my english gets a little confusing

its not that the english is confusing, its just that we have jumped back and forth between hacking a psp-2000 and a psp-3000 multiple times. its hard to keep up with exactly which one we are talking about. the correctness of our advice depends on the correctness of the details that you provide.

all that pspeboothoot ment is that hacking a psp is a delicate process. the art of modding has changed dramatically in a short period of time, and the old ways arent the only ways to do it now. dont take any offense. psp-2000s and psp-3000s must be modded in very different ways. just try to let us know exactly which psp is in question and we will do our best to give you our advice.

thanks.

No worries dude. Just so you know am not that new in psp hacking and stuff. Just last year I hardmoded my battery to a pandoras one to hack my slim and believe me it took a lot of hours of research. It's just that the idea of bricking a psp makes me wanna be 110% on every move I make and ask every single detail.
peace
