how to upgrade to current cfw on psp slim 3.71 M33-2? a help is very much apreciated

hello guyz.

i've been scrolling around this forum for almost a whole day. and haven't found one very specific tutorial for this.
i know its a very noob thing to do but i am a noob to the extreme.
i have a psp slim with cfw 3.71 M33-2
i paid someone to put a custom firmware on my psp a while back (with his pandora battery).
and now i want to upgrade it to the current cfw which is 5.00 M33-6.
because i'm broke and i really want to get pass this noob rank.
i don't have pandora battery or magic memory stick.
i don't know if i need to use this for upgrading.
i don't know if i need to use chickhen to upgrade to 5.00 M33-6
or maybe just copy pasting some file

i see that in order to go to 5.00 M33-6, you need to upgrade it to 4.00 then 5.00? i don't know.
i'm not sure if its need to upgrade to cfw or ofw first.
i don't know where to start.

i saw a youtube video showing you need to replace e file in the update folder.
but i don't have any update folder on my ms/psp/game/

if someone can give me a step by step tutorial for this noob. i'll be the happiest noob on this planet.

well, since you already have cfw installed, then you dont need to use chickHEN or a pandora battery and mms. all you need to do is download official firmware 5.00 and the 5.00 m33-6 file and run it.

all you need to do is download ofw 5.00 and change the name to 500.pbp (if its not already called that). then download the 5.00 m33-6 file and unpack it.

there will be a folder named UPDATE after it is unpacked. you need to move the 500.pbp file into the UPDATE folder with the other eboot.

after that, just transfer the UPDATE folder to your psp and put it in the GAME folder. then start your psp and run the update. that should do it!
