Need Help To Identify MotherBoard Type
I'm new in PSP. So, I google about it and I read all the thread in this forum.
What I get is before we start hacking the PSP, we need to know the Mothertype right?? If the Motherboard is unhackable then the hacking process cant be done... So, im really can determine my Motherboard type, anyone can help.. I use the PSPident 0.4 but this Application cant run under firmware 4.xx.
I have the 2000 Series Piano Black.
OFW is 4.01 and the Serial at the back of battery is HE2....
Can this be hacked??
Thanks..

the first thing you will need to do is update your firmware to 5.03. then you need to install chickHEN. both can be found here:
ChickHEN Homebrew Enabler R2 for Frimware 5.03 | HEN for PSP-3000, PSP Hacks - PSP Slim Hacks
once you have chickHEN up and running, then you can run pspident. you are on the right track.

the only way you psp will be damaged is if you pull out the battery during the update process. updating to 5.03 and running chickHEN will not brick your psp under normal circumstances. i would not suggest updating to 5.50 until after you get chickHEN running and run pspident.

there will be no damage. ofw 5.03 is an official firmware made by sony, and chickHEN was developed to run especially on ofw 5.03. there is no way you can brick your psp installing these two things, unless you remove the battery in the middle of installation. i promise.

just fyi:
chickHEN will freeze your psp and force a reboot. thats just the way it works, so dont freak out and think its bricked your psp.

yes. but if you are seriously considering this, i would suggest cfwenabler 3.60. which might be the case anyways, depending on which motherboard you have.
