Upgrading to CFW 5.50 gen-b problems

download the 5.00 OFW, and then rename the EBOOT.PBP to 500.PBP and put that in the same folder(ms0:/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY). BUT You must have a PSP 2000(AND NOT A TA-088v3 MOBO) or any 1000 to do this.

ok so you have 5.03 OFW and ChickHEN R2 correct?

yes, i have 5.03 OFW with ChickHEN R2
I was told to go back to 5.00 M33-6 (That was what I started out with originally BEFORE all this drama) and then I was trying to get CFW 5.50 Gen-B
so yeah, im trying to get CFW 5.50 Gen-B

o yah, btw do i need to activate ChickHen R2 everytime i turn on my PSP? caus it seems like i have in order to access my files (PSP IDENT, CFW installer [doesnt work though], reflasher, etc)

Ok thanks. Now you should not turn your PSP off when you have ChickHEN loaded, or it will go away. So to get to 5.50 GEN B, you need 5.50GEN A first. I recommend you get on 5.00M33-6 first.

Part 3: The M33 Flashing! Code: 1005

Step 1: Once you are in ChickHEN R2 Mode, you can run Hellcat's Recovery Flash 1.60.
-Extract Hellcat's Recovery Flasher 1.60 and put it into ms0:/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY

-Extract the 5.00 OFW and rename it to 500.pbp. then it goes to ms0:/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY

Step 2: Back into the XMB, scroll to game, memorystick and then Hellcat's Recovery Flasher 1.60.

Step 3: Once in Hellcat's Recovery Flasher 1.60, agree to continue. Now select install M33 CFW of the above Firmware. The flashing should start.
-DO NOT STOP ONCE YOU START!

Step 4: Once the flash is done, it may ask you to reboot by pressing any button. do that. You now have 5.00 M33-6 CFW!

After Flash: Some Recommended Settings. Code: 1006

Hold R while you turn your PSP on.

here are the recommended settings that should be under configuration.

UMD Mode set as M33 Driver
Use Vshmenu set as enables
XMB Usb Device: i would always have it set on Memory Stick to be safe
Use M33 network update set as enabled
use version.txt - may want to enable, optional
Speed Up MS access set as ALWAYS

and:

there is an advanced tab/option/samething, select it
after that there is an advanced configuration tab, select it
and from there enable XMB plugins, GAME plugins and POPS plugins.

Hellcat's Recovery Flasher v1.60: Detection of HEN mode, PSP Hacks - PSP Slim Hacks also: This link also has 5.00OFW on it.

download that and extract the eboot to your desktop. Then rename it to 500.PBP
