God of War Limited Edition Pack w/ 88v3? - PSP Slim Hacks

Currently i am trying to help a friend w/ GoW red PSP 2000. He has tried it a couple ways but has never gotten it to downgrade w/ Pandora. The people he has been talking w/ online say that his PSP has a 88v3 motherboard but i have yet to find this to be a case on this forum or others. Are these people blowing smoke or could they be correct?

the only way i think that could happen is if the mobo was replaced at one point. as far as i know, all gow psps are verified completely hackable, which means that they have a ta-088v2 or less mobo.

According to several sources (internet), the GOW red PSP 2000 comes with 3.95 OFW and a TA-088v2 mother board which is completely hackable (CHA). SO, first thing you should do is to look at your OFW vesrsion...go to SETTINGS -> SYSTEM INFORMATION and see if it reads that way.

Ultimakillz have a point, if that psp was bought second hand the parts, particularly the mainboard (mobo) was replaced.

That's really bizarre. All GoW's came with 088v2 mobos. Are you sure it's really a GoW edition and not just a regular one wearing a red housing? Tell your friend to check the back of it and make sure there's a white design of the GoW dude printed on it.

What's even weirder is this is the second time today I've asked that same question to someone.

no. they are a limited edition bundle, so they should all be the same. but vmurph has a point, make sure its actually a gow bundle psp, and not just one with a red housing.

replacing the housing is an easy was to customize a psp.

Hiya, I'm the friend lilfoo is talking about. It's an official GoW red PSP, I don't remember the OFW that was on it when I got it but it has 5.55 on it now.

I ran Rain’s UltraLite MMS Maker for 5.00 M33-4 but I can't get my pandora to do anything. The pandora worked fine on a PSP1000 about a week ago but when I try to power on the GoW PSP with it the system just starts to boot normally then turns off within a few seconds.

well, are you trying to install 5.00 m33-4 with you pandora and mms? if so, then you dont just put the battery in and boot like you normally would.

the standard procedure is to insert the mms, then hold the L shoulder button and insert the pandora battery. after that, the screen should flash and you may need to press X. after that, just follow the onscreen instructions to install 5.00 m33-4.

btw: if you havent already dont so, dont forget to download the ofw 5.00, rename is 500.PBP, and get it onto your mms. you might now be able to install 5.00 m33-4 correctly without it.
