Default Bricked after 3.52M33 --to--> 3.52M33 -4 Upgrade attempt.

I have a PSP Fat and was running 3.52M33 and wanted to upgrade to a newer version but it told me i had to upgrade to atleast 3.52M33 -3 so i chose -4

The upgrade went fine and it said it finished and to hit X to shut down. After it rebooted it was bricked.

I can access the Menu by holding R trigger that says the update failed becuase of some site giving me bad update files but I got them here. It says to put a recovery file in a certain folder and it will boot to it. So i do and I get the initial 3.52M33 installed So it says but it reboots to go right back to the blank screen where it turns off after 5-10 seconds.

I do not want to purchase a pandora battery if i dont have to. I have the ability to boot files so what can i do?

Free file host with a difference!

Download Hellcats recovery flasher v1.60 + the ofw files for which you need to install cfw.
Put the ofw files (ex:- for 3.71 - renamed to 371.pbp ) on root of your ms and recovery flasher in the psp\game\recovery.
then run your psp holding the R button while booting & run recovery option.
flash a brand new firmware & you are ready to go.

When I hold R and start the psp i am taken to a screen that says the update failed because the file(s) were corrupt because I downloaded them from the wrong people. It tells me to make a folder named PSPNEWS_ARE_STEALERS_I_WILL_NOT..... and place the eboot i want to boot in there.

When i do this and run the recovery flasher it says that it cannot run on anything less than 2.71 --- BUT I was running 3.52M33 before I tried the update and it did this.

Why would it be doing this?

It tells you what ??
I cannot believe this !!!
However if this is true and tells you to place an eboot somewhere, you dont have to do that !!!!.
FIRST Download new files from a reputed site like pspslimhacks.
you have to place the ofw files in the ms's directory only not in some other folder .
however you can also put them in hellcat's folder.( I am assuming you have renamed them to whatever firmware version it is ex: 371.pbp )
And by the way it does not start updating as soon as you boot up holding R.
It shows you a menu. Then you have to run the option saying run recovery program at psp\game\rec...
This should boot up hellcats recovery flasher.
AND have you placed hellcats folder into psp\game\recovery directory ????
As your psp is bricked, use the toggle usb at recovery menu to do that.

If it seriously DOES NOT WORK, then try out DCv8.
