GEN - B Help.

Hey i need some help ASAP. I downloaded it etc. Did it all correctly and it was working fine, But then i turned my PSP Off completely, I know im not ment too but i was curious to see what would happen, Now i can get ChickHEN to load etc. GEN-B yeah yeah. But when i goto run a game for instance Ridge Racer PSone, It will go the the SONY Entertainment screen and then take me back to the XMB.

With the message :

The Game Could Not Be Started: Error Code ( 80010016 ).

It was all working perfectly before i powered off.
Someone should know what’s happening atm, And if so could they reply. I think i may have to re-do something.

Is there any custom firmware out atm that is permanent? Eg, I can turn off and turn back on without the worry of something not being bale to load till i reload something?

These are the possible factors that might be affecting the loading process of your game.

1. Make sure you are in 5.03 Gen-A before updating to 5.03 Gen-B. Installing 5.03 Gen-B without first going through 5.03 Gen-A will cause some games (esp PSX/PSone games) to not work properly, or worse, not at all.

2. Make sure that you have a proper file of your game. Converting PSone games to play on the PSP can be sometimes buggy. What software did you use to convert it? Was it properly converted? Is the file compressed to much?

And btw, I assume you have a PSP 3000. There's no permanent CFW for the 3000 as of the moment. You'll just have to try to not completely shutdown your PSP.

If you want the CFW to stay there, don't completely turn off your PSP. Put it in sleep mode by "Flicking" the power switch quickly and not holding it.

NO dont make sure that you are on GEN-A first! Delete all HEN CFW from the system using one of the CFWE versions (3.30 and 3.51 are known as useful) and install GEN-B on a fresh HEN. Installing muliple CFW can 'block' up the FLASH 0!!!

Remember in order to update to 5.03 GEN-B you need to have 5.03 GEN-A already up and running. Sounds simple enough, but in case your not already on 5.03 GEN-A here are some tips to get on the road to CFW 5.03 GEN-A/B :

I have checked pspgen.com and YOU DO NOT INSTALL GEN-A FIRST OR YOU WILL "block flash0" is doesnt say that flash0 is full just that it cannot add the files required. and that sometimes happens when you install 2 cfws on a v3/3000

Im agreeing with you! I as usual dont read instructions but followed the principal the running two types of CFW was BAD so I installed GEN-B alone....

I have repeated this process close to 10 times so far with no ill effects!

I argued this with people and eventually PM'd PSPFan and asked for confirmation on the error on the Main Page TUT which I recieved.
